Lab for Brain Imaging Research at Tsinghua
(BIRTH)

The Lab for Brain Imaging Research at Tsinghua (BIRTH Lab) is committed to contributing to the birth of new tools for brain imaging and new discoveries in neuroscience and brain disease research. It is a part of the Center for Biomedical Imaging Research at Tsinghua and the Beijing Multimodal Medical Imaging Engineering Technology Research Center of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Tsinghua University. BIRTH Lab was founded in 2023. Its founder and current director is Dr. Qiyuan Tian, an Assistant Professor and a doctoral supervisor of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Tsinghua University and a Junior Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
BIRTH Lab is dedicated to the research and development of new MRI, brain imaging and image computing techniques, especially diffusion and functional MRI, multimodal imaging, deep learning-based image computing methods, and the application and translation of these new methods in neuroscience and brain disease research as well as the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases. The research lies at the interface of biomedical imaging, brain imaging, neuroscience, computer vision, and machine learning.
